I think it would be helpful to everyone if we posted earlier in the week. I am posting on Monday morning to get ahead, not because I forgot to post last week or something. I just think we could all learn more and engage in better conversation if we did not wait until Sunday night to post something. I am busy just like all you guys, but it only takes about fifteen minutes at most to make a good post. If you just add it into your homework schedule on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then you will be able to post a blog for the week, check out other people's blogs, and comment on them. Please make an effort as it will make blogging more fun if more than just a few people are faithful to it.
Does anyone agree or disagree about this?

Logic Questions in 3.4
So when I did section 3.4 today, I had some difficulties. There were soooooo many problems that my brain was a pile of mush by the time I was done. I will put up some of the questions I had problems with and see if anyone either had the same problems or has answers for me. :)
Section 3.4 I
Numbers 2, 3, 7, 10, 13, and 16.
Section 3.4 III
Numbers 1-50.... just kidding
but really Numbers 4,5,8,10,12,19,24, 35, 41,43 and 48
If anyone got the answers or also had trouble with those questions feel free to talk about them :).

Essay... reworking it again and again
I have reworked my essay about three times. After reworking it, I brought it to writing associates to make sure I was on the right track and doing everything correctly. I have used the writing associates two times and I am actually sitting in the library waiting for their help a third time. They have really helped me with my essay. They take the time to sit down with you and read through the essay and the checklist to make sure everything is working correctly. Anyone who is struggling with the essay, I would suggest the writing associates. Has anybody else used them? If so, did you think they were helpful? If not, does this make you want to?

Today's Class
I liked today's class a lot. It was a great way to see other people's essays and understand where they might be coming from. It was also nice to do peer editing. I really value the opinions of my peers. They are helpful and insightful just like a teacher's input, but it is from people you are close to and hang out with. What did you guys think of it?

Essay... reworked it again :)
1. P1: College graduates make an average of 1 million dollars more in their lifetimes than non-graduates.
2. P2: One can be successful in helping others, which helps to make the world a better place.
3. P3: Residence life helps people diversify themselves.
4. P4: College helps to make people more interesting.
C C: College Education is important to a successful life
So this is what I have come up with for my premises and conclusion for my essay. This is the third time I have reworked it and I am still open for suggestions. Anybody have any ideas about this or any suggestions on how to make it better?

Argument Essay
So I originally had a thesis and premises, but Professor Silliman thinks I should take one of my premises and make it my thesis. My only problem with this is I don't know what to then make the premises.
My new thesis: People who go to college are generally more successful in their lives than those who do not attend college.
One of my premises could be that those who go to college make an average of 1 million dollars more in their lifetimes, but I am not sure what I should use for others. Any ideas for me?

2.2 Exercises
I had a couple problems with the questions in section 2.2. Most of them were pretty simple, but there were a few things that I got caught up on.
I could not decide whether or not scarlet or graceful dancer were terms or not terms. Scarlet seemed to me like it was an adjective and therefore would not be a term, but I was not sure. Graceful dancer seemed like it could go either way because graceful is an adjective, but dancer is a common name.
Any ideas about these terms or non terms?
8. The intension of a term determines how specific the term is.
Is this true or false? I was unable to decide.

Section 2.2
I thought section 2.2 was a really interesting section. Like we were talking about last week with section 2.1, I thought this was applicable immediately. I was able to grasp the material rather quickly and I was able to do all of the problems. This is the first section that I have really had an easy time with thus far. I am hoping it is because I am adjusting to the whole idea of logic. I am teaching myself what is the best way to learn logic and, thus, I understood this section. Anybody else have any feelings similar or different than mine?

Paper and more logic
For this paper, I have decided to write about homesickness. I am going to do so because for the first month I was here, I was homesick. I want to shed light on how many people are homesick when they leave home to go away to college for the first time. What do you guys think? Have any of you experienced this since you have been at school? If so, what kinds of things did you do to deal with it?
On another note, logic is becoming more and more interesting to me as I study it more. I have learned so much in these first few weeks. I want to continue to build on what I have learned. Kyle said today how he has used logic to help him improve in other subjects. He said writing papers has gotten easier because the philosophy teachers are strict graders and it has helped him develop new and useful skills. I feel like breaking the paper down into steps will make it much easier to write because, whether we notice it or not, we are doing the hard part right now. What are your thoughts on this?
